Context
Casal Català Bay Area brings together the Catalan community across Northern California. The new identity needed to express its cultural roots while feeling contemporary, open, and distinctly connected to the Bay Area.
Concept
A bridge between cultures
The identity draws from one of the Bay Area’s most recognizable forms: the Golden Gate Bridge. Its towers and suspended curves are distilled into a simple graphic structure; a symbol connecting place, community, and Catalan identity.
Exploration
Finding the essential form
Early explorations tested different ways of translating the bridge into a compact symbol. By removing detail and focusing on its most recognizable proportions, the identity evolved into a simpler, more flexible form.
Color
Catalonia meets California.
A vivid palette reinterprets Catalan yellow and red through a contemporary California lens. Black, white, and neutral tones provide contrast and flexibility across applications.
Applications
The identity was developed to live across events, communications, merchandise, and digital platforms—creating a recognizable visual presence that can grow with the organization and its community.
